Mr Miles is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Wellington Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK. He specialises in knee and hip surgery, including partial and total knee replacement and total hip replacement. As well as his leading expertise in cartilage repair, and a wealth of experience in meniscal surgery and ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) surgery, he is one of the highest volume revision joint surgeons in the country, regularly advising on second opinions and complex surgery cases.
To achieve the best return to function for his patients, Mr Miles performs most of his surgeries robotically to achieve the greatest possible balance and alignment of the joint while minimizing tissue damage. This includes knee sports injuries, where his minimally invasive techniques minimise recovery time.
His NHS practice at the renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London, and his interest in research has resulted in the publication of more than 100 scientific papers and articles.
He is involved at NHS England level in looking at how revision joint surgery is provided, and participates in health management, teaching and implant development studies.
